Jan Palmer was a children's book illustrator for 35 years before returning to her fine art training. Leaving Raggedy Ann and Thumbelina behind, her subjects now include portraits, landscapes and sporting art including fishing activities and canoeing.

Jan has received 22 awards for her watercolors from shows in N.Y. and CT. including, in 2014, the Beechmont 1st and Gold Medal and, in 2003, the Rosenau Silver Medal, both from the Adirondack Exhibition of American Watercolors in Old Forge, NY.

Jan is a Canadian and received her art training in Saint John, N.B. She now lives in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. She is a member of the Kent Art Association in CT and the Upper Hudson Valley Watercolor Society.
